her eyes turned back to normal at the end, at least beating out the desire to eat to profess her love 1 final time

overall a great series, would have liked more time to expand the world and those in it though. once amanojaku showed up, they kinda just took full rein of the story.

also even til the end, i still disliked vampire boy

So the mom really does just not love the dad huh? I thought maybe we'd get some answer there that solves her problem as well but... oof.

I really wanted to like this more, but I had some minor gripes early on, and the clear axe meant there wasn't room for exploration. Though, at least there were still a fair amount of chapters to have an actual final arc. Despite feeling lackluster, the publishers easily could have made it rushed and significantly worse.

This is one of those manga had so much more potential than we got. Part of that was Axe-kun and part of that was the mangaka not really having thought their themes all the way.
I really liked the Towa's hunger as a solid excuse for keeping the relationship from going full teen-hormones, but I thought Shibuya's backstory was rubbish.

But I really liked how it touched on things like Towa dealing with the reality of dating not being as good as the fantasy....but then never really delivered any sort of resolution on that.

We went from "Romcom" to "Problem of the week" to "Straight rushed ending".
rip
Honestly I would have fine with a Shinewbi sort of Mulder/sculley Yokai-of-the-week relationship problem solver manga.

Good catch on the eyes.

And yeah, this is one manga that had so much more potential, but even before this axe-kun driven arc it had sort of lost its direction a bit.

That was already covered a few chapters back. Mom deliberately distances herself from Towa's dad to keep her from going full loveydovey with him; when she looks at him and starts getting hungry she forcibly cools their relationship.
I agree though, it would have been nice to see them get a better resolution.
