No wonder he hated her, both of them had a taboo love for Akio but she was so much more terrifyingly able to pull Akio down with her.

Ohh that was a big revelation. So it was mutual, I thought it was only one sided with past Shiori being that way. Kai hasn't shown any involvement so far, I wonder how will this move from here especially with more of past Shiori is coming back (habits, painful memories, and the like) and they both felt a bit more distant due to their jobs. Also while the mom's didn't mean ill will, she seems to spend quite recklessly so far and their funds from their late father won't likely last that long if that keeps up.

I feel conflicted by his friend's actions though, on one hand he's quite open on lending all to Akio's worries but then on the other he seems really against both (probably because it's odd? from a 3rd person's standpoint at least).

Thanks for the chapter~!

First of all, that """best friend""" is so incredibly toxic, holy fucking shit. He's jealous of Shiori because he's in love with Akio and yikes he's acting so fucking awful. It's so obvious that being apart from his family is slowly killing Akio, yet he continues to encourage him to stay away from them and live alone. If he truly, honestly loved him, he would tell him to go back home. What an awful fucking person.

And the mom... I'm pretty sure she only got in contact with Shiori so she could bum off her ex's inheritance. If she made enough money of her own, she should be able to either 1) support the girls with food etcetera herself, and use the money she gets (I assume monthly) from Akio for new clothes, or 2) use the money she gets for food etcetera, and treat Maho from her own money. Especially now that she doesn't even need to pay rent anymore, which I would assume is a pretty penny in Tokyo. I don't trust her one fucking bit. If she quit her job and that's why she cannot afford anything anymore that's even worse. That means she genuinely just came back so she didn't have to work anymore, and with how extremely carefully Akio has been using the money left to them, I doubt they can afford to take care of another mouth.

Agree with everyone who think sAkio's "friend" is toxic. That guy is not a friend.

Except for Shiori's manager, all the adults in this story are terrible.

The real victim of all this is Akio like he has been plagued with so much misfortune. I hope he gets somewhat of a happy ending somehow.

Also the long haired guy is a POS like you're letting your friend become an alcoholic but somehow Shiori is the one dragging him down??? If you love him, tell him, and then deal with the aftermath. Or don't tell him but don't take out your frustrations on a girl with freaking amnesis

AkIo BeCoMeS sTrAnGe WhEn YoU'rE aRoUnD, piss off, buddy. You say you're his friend? Why are you letting him drink his way into oblivion and neglect his physical wellbeing? Don't you try to pin this on his sister. You dickwad.

@ojou It's pretty ironic as well, since Shiori's manager was someone I thought to have been a sleazy guy just taking advantage of Shiori for their company to get back on it's feet. But after a dozen chapters, looks like he's the only responsible adult here so far.
