I agree with the overall sentiment, because i wanted to see more fluff with mitsumi's family and yuzu and mako being a bit more important.I thought this chapter was all over the place and not in a good way. This is one of those things where it should have been decompressed and the events of this chapter take place over a few because it's just throwing stuff at the reader. I wanted to see more of her family enjoying the festival, maybe see Mitsumi's sister actually interacting with Mitsumi's friends since we didn't really get that during the summer vacation arc. Yuzu and Mako not being wallpaper for once.
But nah, we really needed to speedrun everything to get to the super special broken boy because he hasn't hogged the spotlight enough in ways that have been completely detrimental to the series over the last two years.
If I recalled correctly, so far both Shima's biological dad (scenes of his parents fighting before their impending divorce came to mind) and step dad's face (Shima imagined his young step brother going to the Zoo with the stepdad and his mom) have been obscured (drawn without eyes or from the back).Could someone remind me about Shima's dad? Like, what is their relationship like or are his parents divorced or something? I honestly can't remember him at all lol
I don't want to shatter my hopes up with even the idea they might even get together. There is a possibility that they might just end up as good friends who motivated each other into the best version of themselves, or an ending forcing us to create our own imagined ending. It would be a waste if they get together only at the ending of the manga, as too often happens
I had completely forgotten about all that, thank you so much for filling me in!If I recalled correctly, so far both Shima's biological dad (scenes of his parents fighting before their impending divorce came to mind) and step dad's face (Shima imagined his young step brother going to the Zoo with the stepdad and his mom) have been obscured (drawn without eyes or from the back).
This should be his step dad's first face reveal! (Looking so much like his little step brother, obviously). I guess we'll find out soon how their relationship is like in the next chapters.
it's not realLove seeing the tarot stuff! It really sucks when you have friends who always brush it off as ‘not real’… like, even if it’s not real, can’t i have fun? So seeing them have fun with it is great.
And ooof, this foreboding feeling… stay safe everyone!!
My favourite part is the "let go of control" tiktok buddhist advice. This is one of the most condescending posts I've ever read.
