I've kinda always had the thought that everyone (the president, Muse, Yashiro, everyone else that has a big role in Kyoko's life) kinda was putting Ren and his emotional needs over hers. Helping him get over his past and supporting his love for her before she even liked him. There was one or two moments where the president supported her emotional needs, but shoved Ren in as a side motivation. So even if it stalls the romance even more I liked that Moko's number one priority was helping Kyoko as her best friend because she obviously didn't want to see Ren then.
