Are there any manga out there that explore themes of slavery/MC gets slaves but AREN'T just the hero collecting a slave harem in an Isekai?

Seconding Historie and Vinland Saga; fantasy almost always fumbles and flounders with the concept of slavery. It's either too simplistic or so specific it could hardly be called slavery. Historical series are where it's at, and are generally much better at the subject.
