And why the Hell demons can't lie, when they are literally a combination of human and butthurt? Maybe they can't drink or swear as well? If that's the case, then they have a great parenting potential. They are a new stage of "evolution" of humanity, but in a different way, to what Akira had himself imagine.

So humans become devils when they lose a match to a devil and lose their soul.

We don't know the reason that devils target human souls, but seeing as the MC is being targeted when he's that close to falling suggests that there is some intrinsic benefit for making a human fall to a devil (redemption?).

The "no lying" rule is probably by the nature of a devil, rather than any 'evolution'. Certainly the devils are not more advanced than a human because they're inherently missing a soul. The lies would invalidate the 'game' which is required for the devils to interact with humans, so it's probably more involved with whatever power oversees the devils than the devils itself.

There's some surprisingly good drama here, tbh, and I appreciate the MC going all out to manipulate this devil that was so bent on taking his soul.
