Isn't it funny that somehow the demons is actually helping the hero in his journey but instead the princess is unknowingly actively sabotaging the hero's journey?

@LivingCorpse

It is all part of her complex, evil, wicked and diabolical plot to usurp the Demon King's crown so that she can simply order all of the demons in the castle to work hard to provide her with the Perfect Night's Sleep!

Besides, it is rumored* that the princess accidentally saw the Hero taking a bath and simply was NOT impressed with the size of his "sword".

*
After much investigative journalistic efforts, it has been determined that this "rumor" was originally started by a certain disreputable, disgusting, demented, depraved, senile old pervert who shall remain nameless to protect the already tarnished image of his embarrassed family.

A towel is just about the most massively useful thing any interstellar Hitchhiker can carry. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapours; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (a mind-bogglingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you — daft as a brush, but very very ravenous); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course you can dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.

More importantly, a towel has immense psychological value. For some reason, if a strag discovers that a hitchhiker has his towel with him, he will automatically assume that he is also in possession of a toothbrush, washcloth, soap, tin of biscuits, flask, compass, map, ball of string, gnat spray, wet-weather gear, space suit etc., etc. Furthermore, the strag will then happily lend the hitchhiker any of these or a dozen other items that the hitchhiker might accidentally have "lost." What the strag will think is that any man who can hitch the length and breadth of the Galaxy, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through and still knows where his towel is, is clearly a man to be reckoned with.

Hence a phrase which has passed into hitch hiking slang, as in "Hey, you sass that hoopy Ford Prefect? There's a frood who really knows where his towel is."

Could have sworn he was just a super forgettable childhood friend of hers...also she only cares about methods of sleep, so maybe that hero was so hyper he kept her awake.

Didn't realize @dethduck was so froody.
So, um . . . I know this is an inappropriately sane question, but . . . does anyone else wonder why the demons work amazingly hard to give the hero nice things so he can try to kill them better?
(I mean, aside from @LivingCorpse 's point that it makes nice irony when the princess ends up hindering her would-be rescuer)

@Purplelibraryguy: If I remember correctly, there was a mention in a early bonus about the Demon King being pretty obsessive with the "balancing of the game". I think it means that they are working to help the Hero because the Hero and the Demon King "must" fight, if you get my point. I don't know if it's because of tradition or else, but it seems like this fight is supposed to happen.

I can see even the Demon King has strayed off path for the princess lol

I mean at this point, who cares about the hero anyway?
