Frankly I find this a little stupid, we get a whole sudden flashback sequence to make him become a misunderstood victim, just so the story can have an occasion to save him.
They should have either drip fed us the reveal to make it more organic, or have the reveal happen after Jelly saves him.
I know I don't read this for the complex plot, but this is too much.
Not going to lie, this guy for all his scheming is kind of dumb.😅 He didn't find it remotely odd that the enemy kingdom just happened to be there to save him? Like what were they doing there, right? Maybe they...I don't know, were behind the attack, lol. He definitely didn't think to hard about his new friend after being betrayed the first time.
