Straight man here gonna add onto that and say that by 'appropriate', we likely mean play it safe and dress modestly, not exposing too much. Pretty, not sexy. There are different girls with different features that could work well with a variety of styles, of course, but when in doubt, either a sundress with a long skirt or a nice blouse with jeans are good go-to's for many occasions.
