It's like an informal class structure. Alphas seems to be more or less equivelant to the word normie, as in "go explode normies". Alphas are class leaders, popular, well liked an sociable. Beta is a step below, and with that may defer to the alpha in disputes. Omega is bottom of the foodchain. May or may not be outcasts, last picked during groups and more. It is an unfortuante aspect of certain schools group dynamics. Another way to think about it is noble ranks during the medieval age.
