Way he does things could be considered plotholes, or intentionally drawing out the fight in order to have the chance of not just killing the mage and commander but destroying them first?
Pretty greedy MC if the last, but a more enjoyable read if so.

God the MC is so stupid. First of all why even warn them about the mine. Seceond of all of he can choke the mage and fly him into the sky then do that complicated plan, he should just stab the mage. Or just snap his neck. What is he even doing.

When you're too greedy you look at the 'prize' without realising the traps put around it & you go to retrieve the 'prize' yourself. Two stupid lords double the losses.

Is MC a retard? Why did he give away his attack? Why did he give them time to defend from the explosions?

Nice touch, showing how bloodthirsty and unhinged the enemy soldiers are in order to grant MC the moral high ground whilst slaughtering them.
Not that he shouldn't have done it, just a bit cringy.

The opposite, showing how they're just regular people and some even with families is a tired trope too at this point, but at least it's not written solely for the sake of putting the MC in a better light.
