@Eggie 300+ chapters in and im still pissed,
My problem with the novel:
his personality sucks in the beginning and it took a more than a hundred chapters just to see a few changes.
And yes he matured a lot but i don’t like how the author keeps mentioning his growth. Literally every chapter it’s stated “mc grew, he changed, etc. heck even the GM joined in. Saying he changed a lot when the other people was against the mc having a virtual child.i don’t want to be reminded every single chapter of his changes. The changes are pretty obvious and i really liked the development but ffs it’s already chapter 300+ why not just talk about his present mentality rather than comparing him to his past self. I only have a few problems; the MC and the narration.
Just my opinion tho.

A good point to be honest, but at least for me, it wasn't as off-putting because those links to his past self were always done in comparison to his current actions and instead of just shoving it in our faces like "MC changed, he grew" then makes one good decision and goes back to being a complete jerk. Despite the admittedly repetitive narration, the fact is that the writing is consistent, and while the writer could definitely grow on methods to refer to his growth, i honestly don't have many problems with it since it's not something like "MC used to take candy from children with no guilt, now he doesn't do that." and then a chapter later "MC used to take candy from X group, now he doesn't do that" and repeat repeat. It's always relevant and it's always kept minimal, compared to the actual content of the chapter.

Yes, the present is important, of course it is. But if it wasn't for the past, especially in Grid's case, we'd all be different people. The constant jabs at Grid's past mistakes compared to his current attempts at improvement serve as checkpoints in a way, with Grid's goal being to constantly develop in a sense. While always looking forward to the future he wants to achieve, it's only natural for him to also constantly compare his current self to his past, so as to not make the same mistakes or do the same things. Which is why, even if the way the writer does it changes, I personally would prefer to have those comparisons rather than not.
