That last scene was such a waste opportunity for character/story development.
Murdering a random criminal for moral assumptions was weak. They criminals looked shady, but they are doing the equivalent of community service, with no mention that their crimes were capitol ones (murder, rape, etc). Getting murdered for embezzlement or something would suck, lol. Plus, MC could have killed the dude and try to gain another rune or otherwise test the "game" system.
Criminal coudn't talk back, so MC was basically monologue-ing for exposition in that scene. This series has been above average so far, so this bad scene really stands out; I hope it's a one-off.
