After giving my thoughts on the ending. Saying how I felt a little disappointed, but was alright with it.
I’d say these side stories did it some justice. Now, did my opinion about the ending changed? No not really. I feel like if the way the webcomic went was better, there wouldn’t be need for some of these, but I am happy that they fleshed the story after the mid ending. I do wished they fleshed it before. But I’m contempt with this.
The reason why I don’t like endings that reset the world, is because they usually added that they can reset the world after a fact. And the only time I find that’s it’s done correctly is when it was a consequence of an action, not because they felt like they could do better. But when it’s the consequence, I’m fine with people losing their arc and letting it be up to interpretation to what happens next. But when it’s for I could do better, it feels like I need to know happens next, how the side characters are affected. So that’s why I liked the side stories, it showed us that the decision to reverse time was a good one.
My opinion still stands about the ending. But the side stories felt like an acknowledgement to how the ending felt a bit empty. Even if what was left was dirt, they managed to make it fertilized, something able to grow from the leftover. I like the side stories.
