I could be confused but by going to the penalty zone did he manage to leave the quest area while the timer is still going, meaning once he leaves the penalty zone he would reappear in the job change dungeon with 4 hours having had passed?

If that turns out to be the case I wonder what kind of job he would gain from that amount of time.
