Enjoy all :)

Reminder: nobody was supposed to know that Yuchi was the one that stabbed Muxian because of Spellbreaker driving him nuts.

The wind rises from the earth, starting from the tip of a blade of grass: Proverb for how big events are signaled starting from small signs.

Old pale face: He's referring to the Kunlun sect leader with a nickname. It's a Chinese derogatory term for a man looking that looks effeminate or soft, but also maybe a smooth-talker, sly.

Qu Chen and the Kunlun sect leader are too naive imo. Join forces, defeat Xiang Liu and all past grievances and grudges can be forgiven? Yeah no, I don't think so. Demonic cultivators like the Li Mountain Monarch won't just leave in peace if the problem of scarce divine energy is resolved. I don't think they were in it just for that reason. They were using Proxy of Heaven as a cover to power up Baily Zhong behind the scenes. I remember the Ape Sage said they were nurturing a heaven devouring demon monarch. Is that what Baily Zhong will become?

In any case, I'm with A-ting here. Peace is fine and all, but someone needs to deal with these assholes first. She's still not strong enough to deal with the most powerful ones (like Baily Zhong) but she can start from below. She'll get stronger and get to the top eventually.

It's a treacherous path. One wrong step and she could loose her way. But A-ting can't just leave the bastards who toyed with innocent people unpunished. And everything her grandfather taught her will help keep her straight on her path.

I also wonder if the idea of cultivators keeping themselves separate from mortals and worldly affairs is in itself something that builds up karmic retribution and is what's causing the cycles of Heavenly Cataclysms. Just by doing that, they're ignoring a lot of injustices, which the heavens might see as a form of negative karma.

I don't know how much the author will explore these ideas, but I'm liking the fundamental split in opinions happening here. The twins are going on almost completely opposing paths here, and it'll eventually reach an intersection where they'll both have to directly deal with the differences between them.

It also feels like a time skip is happening soon.

And so, this is the end for Chen and her family it seems. Only her brother is still alive. But they don't even know that the grandma was killed apparently. Or that they are family. What was the purpose of making these two a prince and a princess of the Chen empire? A lot of the story just so happens in Chen, and so, i was expecting some relevance, and some retribution for what they did to A-Ting. But she never ever met with her grandma or father. Maybe i am the only one in this case, but this is a disappointment for me.

But now... let's remember the brother who killed the emperor was likely manipulated by Proxy's fox clan. So, there is more coming in this regard. The Chen empire is likely going to turn pretty ugly.

She is talking about something else entirely, right? About Proxy.

I am talking about what her mother and grandmother did to her when she was born. The old lady still didn't know that she was her grand-daughter, the one she tried to drown in the river the very day she was born... This meeting and revelation, when the old lady realises the truth and considers what A-Ting became despite everything, and draws whatever conclusion she may, in relation with all the work for karma's sake that she did for the sake of her own daughter... without even realising that she was the one who drowned the child, not her daughter... And then, there is the fact Qu Chen and A-Ting could actually matter in the Chen Empire fate and future, considering they are royalty. There is this whole dichotomy between the mortal realm and the immortal realm, this idea that they should exist separate, but our two MCs definitely have a foot in both... And i wanted to see the consequences of this and their lineage.

This story thread was probably the main reason why i was following this manhwa. More than the whole 'heavenly cataclysm' thing.
