LOL i've only ridden school buses but i think i'd have anxiety about accidentally getting off at the wrong stop or falling asleep and not having enough money to get back. maybe someone that's like 11 could prolly call the cops and get a ride home but idk how much a teen would get scolded for not being more 'responsible'

assuming he's not wearing contacts or so maybe his eyes being diff is also a thing/hint, tho i assume the "how old are you?" while she's clearly wearing a uniform for an age range of like 14-15 (i think? the mom mentioned it was her 'first year') would just also be him forgetting as well (although you'd think the aunt/mom would've warned her unless he mostly acts normal with someone he spends time with everyday [versus just thinking he's going through a 'chuuni phase'])
