If were talking realistically, i don't see Ayumu winning by any means. You can't just beat someone in a game like chess which take years to master. Much less at shogi which is a tad bit more complex with its tactics than Chess i presume. And she is almost a semi pro level at that.

Manga logic, he may beat her at the last day of graduation or something. But if were being real here, it would be more realistic for her to make a final day betting game/dare and say whoever wins make the loser do whatever they want. And then asks him to confess to her(since some bs about boys only confessing is allowed here). Or just freaking make him go out with her.

Here Ayumu is not a trained champion who trained for many years. You can't become a champion just like that, it takes years and game experience.

You gotta consider the context here. She's been polishing her skills since she was 6 or something. She is practically a semi pro or maybe even the best in her age range in their prefecture.
