shogi pieces are slightly slanted forward, so they're gonna slide off on top of another one unless you hold them down

how you play the game though i'm not sure
it looks like they have to stack as much as they can, and if the stack falls, the pieces in the stack is awarded to the current player, and the player's turn ends
the game ends when there are no more pieces left (40 in all), and the one with the most number of pieces wins
