Also, while I'm Italian, I also have relatives in France, and I very much doubt they would make a lesser mess of French pronunciation

You can change it to French if you want, but then you can't keep the same English/Japanese pun. Either keep it in English (a monospaced font does the trick well), change it to a French/English pun, or kill the pun entirely.

I think it's easier to just keep the English text in a bracket with different font, something like [R O C K O N !], rather than translating them to French, which look really bizarre and lost in translation most of the time.
