I wasn't there during the release but I'm super confused anyone could call this "sudden." It's like they ignored the last 15 or so chapters of building up to this and the months of in chapter time that has passed. Reading comprehension is limited when it comes to gay couples coming together it seems. Happens across many series in ways I rarely see in straight romance stories with the same (and often less) build up. I don't even think this series was subtle in how it slowly showed her recognition of her feelings. It did a good job there, especially with limited pages.
