Part of me thinks that the math for the sword is wrong. It doesn’t increase the strength by 15%, but by 5% three times making it a compound gain. Basically, if you have a starting stat of 100 the first 5% would bring it up by 5, the second would bring it up by 5.25, and the third would bring it up by 5.5125, for a total of 15.7325. Of course this would rely on the author being clever enough to make it compound which sadly I don’t think he is.

Also, a Scrooge McDuck reference? That took me by surprise. I wonder if that’s in the raws or just added by the TL team…

Man it's been a while since I've read a Scrooge McDuck reference and never expected one in a manga. Kind of amusing that the place called Gillis that looks suspiciously like the British isle considering the word for the UK in Japanese is "Igiris".

I do wish artists would just stop and take half a minute to look at their sword designs. It's really obvious that magic sword would be garbage to use, with the crossguard folded back over the hilt like that.

Yeah, I'll admit that the design of the cross-guard looks pretty crappy, but it could still be wielded. Meyer was about to hold it in Chapter 23.1. Most likely, the 15% strength boost can offset the awkward position of the cross-guard.
