There's no reason he'd use the name "Makoto" with Takoha, since nobody but the PMs and the kid knows about the whole alien war thing.

@boldmonkey : but Makoto was a kid in the seventies, and Deido built Souboutei in the twenties. Why Makoto would be impersonating Deido is a mystery to me, unless there's time travelling involved, which is about the only thing missing in this manga for a full jackpot of tropes. (Not that it's a bad thing, I'm loving this series.)

@Kendama In chapter 42 makoto says that if he leaves the plane he'll get lost in time. I'm still 90% sure he's the artist and lost his memory or went insane or something when he fell off the plane. maybe that creepy girl (the one playing with the ball on the very 1st page of the manga, who showed up again talking to the artist a while back) is a disguise for the alien that got lost in time with him?
