Thought: This guy has been in Souboutei for years apparently. The Kirita sisters' mother apparently became pregnant with them while inside Souboutei to an unknown father. They have the same powers he does.

I'm guessing this is their long-lost father.

@fennec Not impossible, but I doubt it. We see Oujin in chapter 9 during the debrief, and briefly again at the time they first enter, in chapter 14.

But since time in Souboutei flows differently, that's not impossible. Did you notice that the Yadorigi team spent about a week in the hospital, but to Takoha and the others who stayed in Souboutei, it appears as if just a few hours have passed?

Huh, you're absolutely right, he's in a silhouette in chp 12 as well. And here I was trying to bake up a theory about him being the ancestor to the other Buddhist guy, they look and act way too similar. Also weird how no one else recognized him, considering he entered the mansion together with them. Maybe it was because he didn't have an intro, because the author was saving him for now? In any case, now I really wonder what his deal is, you'd assume he was taken by a painting and changed, but he insists he's human. In which case, is he just a nihilist?
