TYVM, Death Toll.

Also, quick question; does anyone know why Deido didn't do this to begin with? Was it just laziness?

@whoamiagain I don't think he cared so much about the invaders' agenda that he would bother. Seems preoccupied with finding a way to finish his painting.

@whoamiagain pretty much what altimys said. Deido only gives a shit about one thing and its his painting. Nothing more, nothing less.

He only made them take action, and action himself, because souboutei is at risk of actual destruction.

The ironic thing is that were it not for the underdrain, they could have left Souboutei alone and Deido would never let the invaders leave, since they're his paint. With this new knowledge now, they could just insulate Souboutei from all access to water sources and leave it alone and undisturbed under close surveillance.

Deido is probably the best manga villain I've ever come across. Wonderfully chaotic, of a single-track mind, fearsome to humans and aliens alike. Had it not been for his murder of former bride models, he could even be redeemable, since his only acts of violence so far have been to people who have invaded his home and disturbed his work.

(I still half hope his paintings finally sell - after he is defeated and killed, since he doesn't seem to care much about dying and is the oldest person around.)

@whoamiagain Deido wouldn't give the invaders any more power without good reason, he doesn't trust them at all. The shorter their leash the better.

Surprised it took them that long to think of using a sniper. Guess the shounen battle times must come to an end.
