If I shipped every pair with their adorable friendships, I'd have to also ship Takoha/Kurenai (weird because of their ages and because both of them are gay) and Barrett/Augusto (weird cuz at least one of them is married).

I'd be interested in hearing what you think is weird about shipping Rokurou/Seiichi that doesn't involve any homophobia or equates romance with sex (which would be wrong).

Their interaction feel nothing like romance so far.
I mean, replace Seiichi with a girl, and it's still a children's (even if Seiichi is an old man in age) friendship.

Takoha/Kurenai, Takoha/Deido (yeah, I went there) feel much more "romanceable", than Seiichi/Rokurou.
You can ship anything though, since the story may yet develop that way.

Just more headcanons of mine. I don't think Takoha/Deido would work considering all the fucked up shit Deido has been willingly complicit in, if not outright committing himself. But I definitely shipped it early on before we knew he was actually Deido. Kurenai and Kaerikuro would be cute, but it looks like there's more of a setup for Kerikuro/Zanka which I'd also be happy to see. I mean, he did totally slap her for no reason that one time, but still. Lol

@MisterSteak yea I see what you meant. The interaction between Kaerikuro and Kurenai was so cute. But Kaekikuro and Zanka made a good ship too, but Zanka needs to work out his manner a bit haha may be a little more soft.

In my translation, they have romantic feelings for each other. In my headcanon Takoha is also gay and initially crushed on Deido in their first meeting. Deido/Zanka backstory can also be read as queer.

In manga, when male characters show little sexual or romantic interest in female characters, it's noteworthy. Yes even young boys in manga are often hypersexualized when it comes to their fantasies about young girls (who are also sexualized). So that lack is noticeable, and in an environment like Japan where explicit queerness is stigmatized, that can be a subtle clue that the characters were intended to be queer or at least it leaves open the possibility for a queer reading.

Please don't bring up the topic of pedophilia when it has nothing to do with the discussion. Gross
