It's nearly confirmed that he is going to conquer the continent, at least the way I see it xD

I knew he was smart but remembering his soldiers' names generally? That's legit awesome for a ruler of a nation. Like i mentioned before this guy is a good ruler if he wasn't lazy inside. Well he will unintentionally grow his kingdom judging by his luck probably lol. And that guy would go to the war in hell mode with his spear upside down. He likes challenges

@Gladiator02 Yeah he's an extremely OP ruler, and it's fun to watch his attempts to shirk duty blow up in the worst ways (for him).

Depending on how far the manga goes, he also gets more than a couple of scenes in the LN where he shows off just how stone-cold he can be. I highly recommend them.

@tonie I made the choice for it to be we're, instead of "we are". Yes the words separated sound stronger, but it wasn't the general giving a speech. It was an officer or someone else just saying "Hey, we're ready." Unlike MC's speech where I intentionally kept the words separated for the 'strength' of speaking.

Also that was just Tulip's whoopsie. The extra are was struck-through in the TL doc we have, heh.

@Nemo2342 Well i can't say his cold side didn't catch my curiousity. He never showed it any yet.Though that part was probably the only one missing about him to make a great ruler.

I always think lazy people are great because they're the most creative. It's because in order to save their time to laze around they take the best shortcut. So that makes them more interesting. So lazy protagonists like this Mc is always fun to read

Usually mistakes like these are on typesetter's/proofreader's side I guess. Translators sometimes write down and keep both forms until last minute to decide which one sounds better but when forgotten it may just go unnoticed and because somebody read it dozen times he doesn't realize the mistake anymore.
I thought something similar happened so whoopsie indeed.

@Gladiator02 I just meant that while both the novel and the manga like to play up his kind of goofy "why did my plan to avoid work fail?" side, the novel at least shakes things up every now and then with a look at just how crazy capable he personally is.

He remind me so much of Ciaphas Cain, hero of the imperium. Truly skilled at being a leader even if he doesn't really think so. Keeps up appearances and does everything in his power to stay alive. But thinks ahead about appearances afterword, because you gotta look good surviving so no one doubts you later, and is a self-proffessed coward.

The average human can have 150, of which they remember some information, such as country of origin and vocation about in addition to their name. The average person can remember 300-500 faces along their names (depends on ehtnicity). This dude remembers way over 10000 faces and names supposedly. Sometimes I get quite annoyed at authors making mistakes like this.

@Yeh Well, first of all I really doubt your numbers... in a study from york university every participant could remember at least 1000 faces, up to 10.000 for some, with an average aroung 5000. Fair enough, thats only the faces, not considering if they could remember their names, but its an indicator.
But aside from that, the MC has an eidetic memory in the story, so thats not a mistake in the first place, it is part of the characters "power" to always be able to recall everything. Granted, the manga doesnt do a good job of showing his capabilities until now, so its understandable that it feels weird for you, but the novel made clear that, while he doesnt want the stress of leading a country and laze around instead, he is also a unparalleled genius.
