I think the thing they're talking about how people would question it is that the spirit bone this elephant dude used was probably one of the prizes Spirit Hall is supposed to be supplying to the winners. Flender was talking about how those guys only even offer anything decent because they expect their own team to win it anyway, this would kind of be an extension of that.

@Glomoro By that logic... It just means that the ones who are holding off the Spirit Bones are giving them away even before there are winners, effectively cheating if they use it, so just imagine if the Spirit Hall isn't the winner, how are they gonna solve that now? The prize was already handed over, such cockyness and rule breakingness, cuz they're fucked now, even more if Shrek wins.
