Call me a fool, but I'm sad Solitary was killed. She never actually killed anyone and was genuinely curious of humans. Frieren was wrong, she doesn't prod at an animal, she sits by and observes it as much as she can. She's like an anthropologist.

You truly are a fool then. Unnamed Great Demons are far worse than The Great Demon Sages in some ways.

Amazing arc, loved it from start to end, can't wait to see it animated! if s2 happens that is... (Im pretty sure it will happen, seeing how the anime ended it first season)

Re-reading this arc again for the X time. This chapter is the perfect stopping point for season 2. Imagine the final words said by denken in this chapter spoken in the anime then cuts to those flashbacks of him and his wife while the credits roll. 😭

Best arc of frieren so far, i reread this arc 3 times already, this indefinite hiatus is killing me man

I liked Macht and Solitar. Solitar's end was pretty lackluster to me, but Macht's (being the main antagonist of this arc) was satisfying enough. And I liked Macht more than Solitar so I'm good. Interesting demons. I also really like the bits and pieces we got about the Demon King in this arc; I still think we'll get to see him at the climax of the story. There might be a reason why his castle is close to Aureole.

My opinion on Denken hasn't raised much, but I appreciate the development of his character here. The flashbacks to his past throughout the arc was really nice; that panel of him by the grave touched me.

If there's a season 2, I see this chapter as the last chapter of the first cour. I can already imagine the credits rolling and the added anime original scenes.

If they decide to animate this, I sure hope they put a deserved attention to Denken and his motivation for the love of his life Lekture. Imagining that last grave visit alongside some wholesome music as Denken reminisce will make me tearful. 😍

About this arc. I need to let my mind digest it a bit more. However, I'm sure this is one of the best of the series. Especially so when people disliked its slow start. Very well done. Yamada-sensei.

I think what nobody can understand about demons is why they keep killing humans no matter what. They're supposed to eat people but they also can survive without it.
They're also believed to come from wasted magic from humans, wich only raises more questions. Do they spawn at random locations? How?

If humanity was able to answer these questions they would be able to eradicate the demon threat, and the same goes for monsters. I think goblin slayer was better at this 😂
