@forecast I also think they look a bit similar, especially the hairstyle. Although the god has a kind of feminine feel. In fact I've been wondering whether the god is male or female. The prominent lips and long eyelashes suggest to me that it's female, but the clothing and lack of breasts suggest it's a male. Was the gender ever mentioned and I missed it or is the god just androgynous.

His line of thinking is something like this:
"His name should be Black...no, B." Then the dragon dad misheard Takeru's 2nd guessing himself, together with his muttering the initial of "Black", as "Black Noubi/Black Nobi" ...at least that's how I understood it.

Edit:
Took a look at the raws. It said "Black no B" in transliterated english.
The "の/no" being a denoting word to point to a clause or phrase in Japanese similar to "the". So in conclusion, he suggested his name to be: "Black B." with "B" being his nickname. Although if I were the one translating it to be more understandable to English-speaking readers, I'd use my first guess to substitute the meaning that would have been lost in translation.
