@xyzzy Maybe there'd be a male romantic interest for once, switch it up a bit from all the generic females that are starting to run together.

Also, let's not forget that it seems he has to use language in a very specific way to get his abilities to work, so it might be that the guy is calling it something different than he knows it by.

@Kayriel

Normally, I would decline isekai yaoi. But at this point, even that would make this series moderately unique. So I’d welcome it.

Give us the dueling magnums, author.

There are already enough and sometimes rather nice stories, but personally I avoid.
even if he has come several times to read about it, find the story nice and discover that there is a male character who would take care of the buttocks of the main character
that's what happens when you do not read the tags
but sometimes ignorance has good side, because if the story is good it's not a problem

"But according to the Appraise, he wasn't lying at all..."
Appraise, or just the looking glass, would be a precise lie-detector at that point. It'd be a cheat item in anyone's hand.

I forgot if the starting village was of any importance but you'd think no one would know or give a shit about a tiny village dozens of fuckimeters away.

Well, a whole lot of nothing. He has done the freaking same thing every other isekai MC does went getting to his first city: go join the adventurers guild.
Its so obvious that authors arent even trying any longer...

@CelticMutt: isekais tend to be set in a medieval age world, and in those times a poblation of 10k was indeed a city.

well the information he gave orally corresponds to what is written, so this sentence is not wrong

it's called a deduction, although in this case they deduced that he was not lying, when in fact he was imprecise.
It is a cognitive bias on their part to believe that he did not lie, while the only valid information is on the magnifying glass
By the way, you had the same cognitive bias as they, because you thought he had a lie detector
and again only in the case where the person opposite would not be good enough to counter their tool
(he could very well have made an object which makes that when one uses appraisal on him the information received would be that which he would have written himself on it)

For those who pointed out the MC smelled the elf, do remember that Gary Oak/Your Rival already did it later, 23 years ago.

For a moment, I thought the compilation image on the last page was what he saw when he opened the doors to the guild hall ...

Why are people bitching about him noticing the elf smells nice? I occasionally walk around in public and note that some girl smells nice, generally because they used some perfume. You don't have to go up to them and sniff them to notice it. Plus the MC probably has a better nose than average considering his stats.

MC: "I hope I don't get Involved with odd people"
Narrator: "He will definitely get involved with odd people"
