The guild is abusing him. They don't even give him any kind of benefit (paying him more for his materials doesn't count, since he gives them high quality ones) and also don't respect his wishes (like not wanting to stand out). He collects valuable things and then sells at the market price so why are they being difficult and reprimanding him? Why make him doing a duel that doesn't benefit him at all? Why they don't teach the brat to be a good collector instead of that dumb quest? The MC doesn't own them anything and still helps them alot.

The knight seems suspicious, he claims he fired the arrow to stay incognito but he only fired it after Waims put up the barrier, like he was testing it's strength, also the other two turned their backs to Waims clearly not seeing him as any kind of threat so probably didn't care if he fired at the kid or not yet since the wizard in front of them was the bigger threat.
Oh f-off, author. How do you think your own food is fertilized? Making the MC ashamed to admit he knows someone because they're riding a monster with "valuable feces" is the mentality of a snob that think they're above farmers and other "dirty" jobs.
