Though I guess it's not uncommon for discrimination to be met with discrimination, it's happened quite frequently in the history of our own world, and you can even see it in our modern day. Combine that with their habit of inbreeding to preserve the "pure blood" and her view is understandable, among other details found in their current circumstances. Good on our MC for looking beyond such details because ones lineage is much less relevant than who a person is.

Someone that will take quests of varying levels but isn't more expensive to pay for just because of his rank. Basically he's equivalent to a rank A/B adventurer, but he can still take on something like a D-ranked quest and be paid like a D-rank adventurer without creating issues in the bureaucracy of it all. Because they're not a normal classification, they actually have a lot more clout with the guild since they're more willing to take on quests that nobody else wants because of the pay (which is important for the MC since he likes providing good quality goods at a low cost.) The other important factor is that quality he brings back can be properly ranked and paid for so that he's not putting other resource gathers out of business by providing premium goods at bargain prices (while also allowing those that are grateful to him to properly compensate him for his work.)

Remember that the High Elves only exist due to rampant incest because "The Purity of Our Genes" 🤮. They are technically genetic abominations that should have died out sooner, and the fact that they refused to even consider changing their ways until the MC showed up shows how much they refused to consort with the other "lower" elven branches.

The High Elves were only a few fascist purges away from being pointy ear Nazis.

Eh, less Natzi's, and more like nobles. They have a very special heritage and they misunderstood the importance of that. Many European and Asian nobilities fell victim to similar ways of thinking. Nothing we've seen suggest they were Nazi levels of discriminatory, just more arrogant nobles whose ancestors were those put in charge and ultimately didn't realize they were carving out their own path to extinction. It's all quite different from the Nazi perspective of "wipe out or oppress anyone that isn't of the superior species," it's still not good or anything, but to say it's a Nazi perspective at this point is quite extreme

Dang, this arc has been going on for 2 years, I had to reread 15 chapters to remember what it was about. Brolite shows up on stinky worm, joins mcs party. Then asks mc to help find his her sister, who ran away from elf village because she didn't want an arranged marriage. Party goes to elg village for more info, which is covered in bad mana. Mc does a temporary fix, then defeats that slug that was the source of the mana problem. Also finds out Brolite is ambigious gender and the royal high elf family is incestuous with lots of congenital defects. Advised them of his conclusion. They figure out where Brolites sister went, another elf village led by someone who didn't want to follow the main villages tradition and laws anymore. The party heads there, and that's where this chapter starts.

Man it feels like it’s been so long since an update. I love reading this series cause it’s super low key and just a lot of fun. I know this arc is going to take a lot of time since it’s Brolite’s backstory but I’m looking forward to more progression.

It's likely out of habbit of being excessively humble that many MC's think that way. That or they all have imposter syndrome and simply cannot comprehend or refuse to comprehend their actually strength (although to be completely fair, 97/100 MCs actually did earn their "abnormal powers/abilities" by recieving a "free" handout from a higher power, so they are not entirely wrong when they say that they are a normal adventurer. They themselves haven't done fuck all to actually earn their increased status, and just got lucky)
