Oh, so it's one of those, huh? "Haha misunderstanding funny".
Honestly I had high hopes for this manga, but they started to change it to generic isekai laughingstock.
The prevalent attitude seems to be:

"HurHur! Let's make everybody as stupid as possible! Cos stoopid is funnie! HurHurHur!"

I mean...
There's having a "misunderstanding," and then there's misunderstanding something, creating an entire thesis behind it without any form of investigation, building an entire mental framework around your make-believe, and then... Anyway.

I feel like this type of trope isn't really comedic (IMO), nor is it good writing.
It denies the reader any chance at a self-insert... which means you're basically laughing at retrded and/or Autistic people, and you'd have to be a literal bad person to do that.
And, even worse, you can't become invested in the characters, due to them constantly making the same mistakes without any sign of character growth; this also makes it difficult to become invested in the story.
I can't even tell you how many manga I have dropped because of this.

The trick to this manga is, they keep making silly misunderstandings, but they channel them into reaching great achievements. To somebody with a more serious approach to creation like me, this is very funny.

Also, I do not think comedy manga like that need self-inserting. Many stories work just fine without the protagonist being a self-insert.

this is the first time I've seen a story not being self-insert being said as a negative
