I just received the first volume of this in the mail, the newly released official English print. Here's a small testament to scanlation and a disappointing reminder that officially printed English versions being slightly flawed.

It's a small spoiler for chapter 1, but:
Near the end of the chapter,

Kobayashi suspects he has the same "impairment" as Uno because of his difficulty in understanding things that seem easier for others. The scanlation portrayed this very well when he bluntly told when he admits "I'm...retarded" to his friend. It's rude, crude language, yes, yet harshly appropriate for the delinquent character and his preliminary understanding of feeling "behind". It also gets the message across that he has something SPECIFICALLY similar to Uno, who was also called "retarded" by Uno's friend earlier in the chapter and is almost absolutely suggested to be autistic. There's something beautifully messy, yet simple and sad to Kobayashi's phrasing.

In the official version, however, the choice of words is for Kobayashi to say

"I'm...not smart." Something about it lacks wallop. We KNOW the character is "not smart" from the beginning of the chapter with his poor grades. Therefore it kind of lacks the revelation and relatability to Kobayashi feeling like he has a specific problem or affliction, especially as related to Uno. Earlier in the chapter, Kobayashi's friend calls Uno "slow". It would have been better if Kobayashi had even used that, in order to make the language feel more self-deprecating and specific to Uno as well.

I know it's a pretty minor thing, it's just a little funny when yet again scanlations get a super small detail right with their choice of wording to the point that it adds better flavor to a manga, meanwhile the "official" version of something works against itself in dramatic impact. A darn shame the scanlator's hard work has now been removed from Mangadex.
