this chapter really hit home for me -- i personally think that she should honestly go to a counselor or something like that since it is pretty clear that her mother's behavior is toxic and harmful and no one should be demeaned and treated that way. I feel like this sort of thing happens a lot in asian families where studying is taken very seriously. It makes me wonder how the author will write the next few chapters - will they be able to reconcile their mistakes? Will the mother change her ways? Or will their relationship become strained? On a lighter note, the last panel had my heart thumping, I really hope that they can bond over this moment and become closer friends(?).
