For a second I thought Shenok would be Tsarevich Aleksei who survived the killing of the Romaonov familiy, but guess not.
Felix Yusupov was the one who killed Rasputin, so linking him to Aleksei would make sense. But this story is in the 1930s, so Rasputin is already dead...
And Felix Yusupov was married to Irina. So the one who threw Belka out of the window was him...?
"Her [Irina's] husband-to-be, Felix Yusupov, was a man from a very wealthy family[5] who enjoyed dressing in women's clothing and had sexual relationships with both men and women, scandalizing society [...] Most of the stories [about Felix] that they [Irina's family] heard had originated from Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovich of Russia, Irina's first cousin once removed, who had been one of Felix's friends and, it has been speculated, might have been involved in a romantic relationship with Felix.[citation needed] Dmitri told Felix he was also interested in marrying Irina, but Irina said she preferred Felix. Felix was able to persuade Irina's reluctant family to relent and allow the ceremony to go forward." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princess_Irina_Alexandrovna_of_Russia#Marriage - .... very interesting read. Does that make Shenok Felix' lover/Dmitri and Belka's father since Irina was the name of her morther? xD
