Siiick.

Might be the first major enemy he's killed without dying to it first.
I think you might be right, but considering the implication that starboy's like a "bad end" version of himself that's a good thing, right? If he was killed overwhelmingly, well, that's that, but if he's learned to draw strength from the people around him & use his head to push things in his favor instead of just dying to brute-force it as the easiest way forward that's pure character growth in my book.
Didn't expect him to die so quick 😐
It feels too easy.
Perhaps he only killed a story version of the guy, but the real one is still alive somewhere?
Yes and no, he was set up as someone necessary to confront eventually, but not someone to have a multi-part, hundred-death battle against, really. The fucked up state of the world(s) has always been one of the key issues in the series; just because he beat down a single guy who was making some of said worlds worse doesn't mean he's cleared much of a hurdle. This was more like him seeing a way he could fuck up in the future & deciding not to let that happen over anything else. That said, I fully expect someone as cautious and calculating as this little bookworm shit to have contingency plans in place for such an occasion, considering there's no point in being quite such a deranged self-sacrificing moron if your convictions stop at "well, if I die that's that I guess lmao". He's almost certainly not really gone from the story just yet.

Doubt. We know that the reason everything looks like a book - is just a quirk of the librarian's power - the way he visualizes what he does.
The librarian also took a hit from the tower when sending MC to floor 50, which wouldn't have happened if it hadn't been a real floor 50.

I'm inclined to believe that but other commenters have good arguments too. We shall wait and see the truth. I'm leaning towards fake Aegim, since we haven't got to see what personally motivated him to kill constellations, beyond them just being misery-mongers overall. I expect something moving, kinda like how the cultivation world and MC's mistress has defined him, helped him grow and left a teacher-sized scar in his heart.

Man I'm still not over her... 🥲

Minor spoilers / stuff that will get revealed soon:

He's not really gone to the 50th floor, think of this as him playing on a savestate of the 50th floor. Any benefits and knowledge etc he gets while here he'll keep, but once he reaches floor 50 for real none of this will have actually happened and the residents won't remember any of it.

The fight's also not even over yet...

Gonja go suuuuuuuper lucky here to get this much result, his sword art based on his personal experiences vs his opponent's experiences happens to hard counter the Constellation Killer who has no memories, but the real big deal is that the Constellation Killer is incredibly intelligent and basically like Batman in that the more prep time he has, the bigger of a threat he is. Gonja lucked out here and managed to get into a temp deal that worked out for him as they really didn't anticipate the combo of a complete newbie being able to fully antagonise the witches, his demonic sword arts breaking his defences, and one of Gonja's other main abilities that will come up later. Realistically it should have been completely fine for CK here 1,000,000 times out of 1,000,000, Gonja's just that much of a wildcard.

If you're disappointed that this fight was over so quick - don't be. A day will come when we get to see the true threat the Constellation Killer can pose, and honestly out of every story I've ever read or watched or whatevered, the Constellation Killer at full power and preparedness ranks in my top three scariest enemies to have easily, and I include universe annihilating gods and stuff on that list. I can't even think of an opponent who chills me more than him, off the top of my head, I'm just saying top three instead of #1 just in case I forgot one or two, he terrifies the crap out of me frankly.

It does feel a bit too easy, but that's probably in part because this isn't likely to be the end of his story.
All those things he couldn't answer obviously hint at something having authority over him, a bigger bad behind him. So the chances of there being some reversal where MC decides he needs to save the constellation killer from his fate and change his mind instead of murdering him are far from zero. If not purely because of MC's sense of justice, then at least in order to overcome whatever is coming at the end.

Nah, that ain't it. No way he went down that easily. He'll be back.

Crazy to see him get taken down so quickly though, even if there's like a zero percent chance this is a final death.

it's been a while since i read this part of the novel but i remember
that yes, real CK isn't dead and Gongja gets killed by him so we get an arc where we go through CK 's memories. And since gongja happened to rank up, he now is a participant of the memories instead of just seeing it iirc

Its hard to cheer a villains defeat when the villain was already a pitiful shadow of his former self - and one with twisted but noble intentions at that. I hope this isn't the end of this story arc because I really want to see happened to Aegim for him to start killing constellations.

Biggest IDC if he killed the real one or not. I read some comments, valid all of them. NONE THE LESS this was an amazing chapter. Good fight, good story. Cant wait for more. Also it seams there was a one chapter per month up until this chapter (last upload was 9 months ago before a brief 4 or 5 ch, then this set) i hope we see more! TY for the TL as always very pleased.

Without time traveling even? This gotta be a fake 50th floor made by the Librarian or something.

Thus he efficiently and quickly killed the constellation killer / killer constellation :meguu:
...but constellations are made of more than one star? :thonk:
...and he intended to make it an interesting cross-over story for the librarian? :pepehmm:
Methinks shenanigans be waiting :finnawoke:
