@captain_crunch Uhhh... I think you mean 9-11, 7-11 is the event for 7 eleven free one cup icee. So unless Bush jr like raiding every 7-11 place across the country, that is cool, too.

@nep is effective though. And is basically a reverse card of the plot the grain merchant had where it was a lack of evidence that caused problems. Do like that the grain merchant wasn't completely stupid

@dharman you really don't need too complicated plots. Simple ones work surprisingly effectively.

It's a stupid proof, but stupid proves also worked against MC, so I guess it i s all just and how that world works.

@Whatever1337 Too many holes for those who ask questions. Questions like "Where did all the weapons go?" "Can the horse bandits change clothes so fast?" "Number/body size of bandits" "What do you do if the merchants ignore the bait?"

Not saying that these merchant's plan of burning down the granary was any better.

@Nep:

1) The merchant has other people who went ahead with the main weapons. Merchant group was going to return to the city with the grain claiming they bought it.
2) Save for fatty merchant, it would be easy to dispose of clothes in the dark woods.
3) There are others in the group but weren't caught in this moment.
4) Then cat ninja would have moved the location of the grain. Plus most Criminals are morons.

@Qelix

Circumstantial evidence is all you need when you have a mob wiped into a frenzy and people dont have accsess to modern tools to prove you wrong.

Such imbalance. How could those merchants who implemented mutiple layers of strategem fall for a simple one?

[ol]"Where did all the weapons go?" "Can the horse bandits change clothes so fast?" "Number/body size of bandits" Nowhere, the horse bandits did not change clothes, they were all the MC's men who acted like the bandits and just left behind carts so it could be a trap for the merchant, they are not part of the mob so they just continued on, likely taking detours at some point to act like they came from the town [/ol]

[ol]"What do you do if the merchants ignore the bait?" - then you get free grain because it is no longer the merchants grain, it is liberated grain from the bandits. Also the merchant tried to ignore the grain, but his allies were the stupid ones[/ol]

[ol]Not saying that these merchant's plan of burning down the granary was any better. - It actually was a good one, the merchant just wants money and people can not give him their money if they can buy the grain elsewhere. If the town dies out due to starvation he won't care, he will just move to the city of his pal the baron. Likely he also has some measures in place to avoid his grain to be caught in the fire should it have grown out of control. One of them was to act innocent and help stop the fire from spreading[/ol]

@isoycrazy @Whatever1337 You two misunderstand me. My questions are more of. "if I am one of the few peasants in this story that asks a lot of questions, I will find out about the ruse."

@Nep if you ask questions would you also not know that the grain merchant is up to some shady shit and maybe let your city mayor/lord have this one?

@Whatever1337 I quote myself
Not saying that these merchant's plan of burning down the granary was any better.

Just because everyone is moronic/straight enough to roll with the plan doesn't make it a good one. Since merchants can just "ask the peasants" a few these questions after getting 'caught' to create suspicion and ignore any questions regarding their earlier plan because "you didn't ask it earlier so you are just nitpicking."

Not enough to "completely absolve themselves" but enough to plant some suspicion and mess up the Lord's plans. This is especially true if you have planted agents willing to shout in your favor.

At the same time the granary burning plan was also shit for the same reason. I am not asking for foolproof plans but these two feels like swiss cheese to me.

or you could just either accept this and move on or you can drop the manga. This is the internal logic of this manga that the author is using to move the plot of the story along
