I really like this chapter; there was the obvious opportunity to introduce some unnecessary conflict and draw out a rivals arc where Kaede would be forced to choose, but instead we get silly shenanigans and a new status quo. Outstanding.

Perhaps, but the author doesn’t seem to know how to develop this. The context suggests this as an NTR joke, but otherwise it's like a "my best friend's new friend is trying to steal the spotlight" thing.

And yet, without some ambiguity, there's no story at all. I dunno, maybe you've been reading mangos too long (haven't we all), or maybe I'm approaching thing from a different point of view (I am not a smart man): either way, I'm saying the ambiguity is entirely comedic.
