Honestly, decent setup, great delivery, and good ending. Even if it's just a one-shot. It doesn't evoke any huge feelings, but it is a feel-good story.
I'm not sure about the Serialization, but this One-Shot was still good, if you've got a few minutes and want something easy and not-too-hard.
