i was thinking the same, there's a limit to how you should dress even freely and even if you are doing very good with exams

It'll be revealed before too long, but they are talking about the fact that Highschool is the only free time they have left. They want to prove to everyone that Maki is the only one for them. Their future after is 'decided for them'.
