Well at the very least it does seem obvious it'd be her 'choice ' to have a funeral/letter reading as opposed to her having a terminal illness. tho hopefully she comes to terms with living rather than something co-dependent even if the VA girl does date her in the end

The Summer You Were There is the localized title. The original title doesn't mention summer at all.

I mean, even the summary says she has a 'miserable life' but I think it's a somewhat happy ending if not bittersweet tho irl, getting into a romantic relationship wouldn't fix one's personal issues
