She's probably awake, to make sure yangyang is okay ... Or maybe she's actually knocked out from worrying so much about lol

The panic attack scenes 👌🏻I'm still heartbroken Black-Backed Albatross was cancelled but I'm so glad the author is still doing art for series, if you want more examples of how she can set a tone with vivid imagery PLEASE go check that series out, few series/artists come close to such visual expression and narration!

What additional context? Yangyang just suffered a major panic attack and was rescued by the one person who's been her lifeline for years, who she has become intensely attracted to - she's a ball of unstable emotions after that experience and, as humans do, sought out physical comfort and connection with that person beyond what she had because it got to the point where their intimacy wasn't where her panicked brain needed it to be. It's like a catfish burying itself in mud, wanting to coat itself completely in the thing bringing it relief from drying out and dying - to the catfish, there's no such thing as going to far/too much mud because the alternative is death

Even if there is an explanation this is still one of my least favourite tropes

When you bring up the catfish bit it makes sense. But to me it just felt rushed the author was probably writing it in the guise of what you described. But like I said it fells rushed and that’s my own opinion.
