None of it has been unexpected. All the girls were trashed one by one in different ways and seperated from the MC. I never said it was good, or skillfully done, but it was certainly premeditated. The author is following a formula, and that's to take a normal harem and shit on it.

Getting angry at it being called deconstruction because that sounds like it's giving the author too much credit isn't going to change what it is.

People just didn't notice what was happening until the "best girl" was targeted. Now they can't come to terms with the fact that they got dragged into NTR, and didn't notice it sooner. Cherry getting knocked up in a supermarket parking lot should have been a clue.

Good point, very good point. The funny thing is, if people back then would have seen this red flags as NTR, people would call you delusional since "nothing happend yet" lol.

This serves as a good counterpoint to trusting accumulative review scores on popular manga aggregator sites. One chapter later, and it's evident that Eliza is so thoroughly repulsed by the forced kiss that she attempts suicide. Eliza didn't nefariously cuck Ichi. It's hilarious how self-inserters get pissy about NTR when it's more accurately just plain sexual assault. Like one other commenter said, I hope this filters out the drivel.

People who have started to dislike this series, myself included, have been abundantly clear that we don't like the direction this manga is going. I started reading this series when translated chapters first dropped and the literal last thing I wanted it to turn into was some generic alien invasion action series (especially one that is seriously aping off of Resident Evil). This series was infinitely better when it was a slice of life about Ichi having to deal with insane alien girls (them being ridiculously dangerous and volatile was a nice wrinkle). But now, it's turned into a jumbled mess of cliches and has lost almost everything that initially got me interested in reading.

You dislike cliches--fine. But in the very next sentence you basically just describe To Love Ru. But with the radical change that the alien girls are dangerous and volatile. :U

Yes, that radical change made the series interesting. There is literally nothing interesting about the current direction the story is going. It’s following every generic alien invasion sci-fi action cliche imaginable. To Love Ru with alien girls who could pop people like meat balloons and destroy a car like it’s nothing is infinitely more appealing than the millionth sci-fi, action alien invasion story.

I know this horse has been dead for like a year now but imma kick it anyway, not that I care about the “NTR”, Mc is basically a non-entity now and all the girls that aren’t cherry are just battle slaves so who cares, this military plot divergence is the most boring shit imaginable and honestly I wouldn’t have minded if they just killed the mc and the other girls just so we could follow something more interesting like cherry’s perspective. Maybe down the line they’ll make her insufferably dull too so I can start rooting for the villains but as I see it the plot is stuck between two woefully inept driving forces in the edgy nympho alien who wants to rule the world and that complete and utter Moron military man who has thus far made every cliche mistake imaginable when dealing with an unknown sentient enemy. I get being needlessly sexual is the entire point of the manga but just have him be a rapist instead of some high and mighty “realist” so you can save everyone the frustration and embarrassment of having to here his “but I’m superior!” Speech when this half baked plan blows up in his face.

I was hesitant when I saw the stupid chocolate weapons battle, I was facepalming when this clown mc folded to the obviously evil government instead of keeping his mouth shut or fucking lying about their origins, and the stupid chocolate suits (which do nothing since they can just eject their cores from exposed flesh) were the final nail in the coffin for me to expect anything interesting to come out of this incredibly dumb shift in premise.

That’s all, hopefully civilization gets overrun quickly so something interesting can happen again.
