No need for cast, they put a long titanium rod inside her bone. Few weeks recovery time. The rod won't be ever removed though (correction: they can be removed but the surgeons generally would rather not do that)

If motorcycles are their children, then Koguma's injury takes on a rather strange subtext. But joking aside, it's quite intriguing that the author actually shows the risks of motorcycles, rather than simply idealizing them.
