So, that outfit Cen Jing is wearing in chapter 7 is indeed awful, but I think that it could be salvaged if you just ditched the red and orange lightning patterns that clash horribly, and the floral pattern over the collarbones that doesn't go with anything else in the outfit. The chaps would still be an... avant-garde choice, but she could potentially pull it off without those completely clashing accents/patterns.
