If you haven’t found it yet, I think you’re looking for “Tensei Goblin dakedo Shitsumon aru?”. I don’t think it’s dead yet, just in between volumes.

I'd assume the purpose of the manga is to promote the light novel, since there are many examples other than this one, or maybe it's become increasingly difficult to juggle between the 2 mediums, it's either one of those two.
