Miki Hashiba certainly has a lot of energy... not my kind of girl, to be honest, but still fun to watch. And sees through the bullshit so readily. Gets Yamato to admit the truth, even if he'd rather not admit it to Suzuka at this time.
And he still operates under the impression that Suzuka hates him. To be fair, she does act angry with him a lot, but the point is she wouldn't be so outraged if she didn't care... not to mention a lot of the time it's just her acting upset to cover her real feelings. All the other girls seem to see right through her so readily, while Yamato, the dolt that he is, fails to look close enough to tell.
To be fair, though, people in a situation are slower to pick up on the cues than outside observers. This is why these sorts of things happen.
