why swap them back at the end if you're gonna make them swap again 2 frames later? just made that whole conversation confusing.

This was bad. There are tons of ideas barely held together and a redemption arc for a character that doesn't feel earned.

I mean, if this weren't a one shot, this could conceivably work out as a story, more or less? Assuming the extra time needed to properly flesh things out is taken, instead of this "oh uh btw bully-chan has a totally good reason for flat-out assaulting a girl she forgot saved her from bullying" thing.

I know it's a one-shot, but it's all over the place. Feels like a fever dream of a bullying victim, since the abuser and the victim becomes best friends after the """misunderstanding""" was solved.

A punch in the face would be a better resolution imo, because no way in hell I would forgive someone that bullied me that hard just to vent their stress and frustration. :bleh:

This is the kind of story that would really only work as a series instead of a oneshot. As it is, it just feels terribly rushed having to cram what should have been an entire redemption arc, just so it can be "neatly" resolved at the end but it just falls flat.

Some readers, including myself are left with an unsatisfying feeling of not enough comeuppance delivered, considering how long the bullying and abuse has been going, and it's just way too quick of a friendship forming between a former abuser and her victim. Not very credible given the pacing.

The excuse given to trigger the bullying also felt weak: stress from getting stalked? That doesn't entitle her to hurt anyone (except the stalker), so she's still a shitty person. There's also a pinch of victim blaming to the mix: "she felt like an easy target" and that does not help her win any sympathy for me. This was too easy given what she inflicted on the other girl.

Minus the body swapping, similar bullying plots have been done better in Onani Master Kurosawa and Takopii no Genzai because there's room to better flesh things out. A weird choice to cram this kind of plot in a oneshot.

I don't think the problem with this oneshot is the pacing, the problem is with Kusujima's characterization. "Feels guilty because she protected a girl from bullies a bit violently" is extremely weak motivation. If Kusujima had actually been a legit bully herself in elementary school, that would explain her willingness to forgive Hoshikawa a lot better and would also place them on more equal footing. The oneshot also relies way too heavily on exposition, which makes it harder to connect with the characters. It's a shame because I do think the premise itself has potential.

Oh well, they can't all be winners. Thanks for the translation!
